National League Division One North

Division One North is one of four regional divisions that make up the fourth tier of English women's football — the base of the National League and the level below the Northern and Southern Premier divisions. Where the tiers above are national, tier four is deliberately split by geography to keep travel sensible for part-time, semi-professional clubs, and this division gathers sides from across the north of England. The four Division One leagues came into being in 2014, when the old regional Combination Leagues were folded into the pyramid as "Division One". The current National League branding followed in 2018. For clubs here, the target is clear: win the division and you go up into the Northern Premier at tier three. Drop out of the bottom and you fall into the regional feeder leagues below, which supply fresh clubs coming the other way. It's the meeting point between the structured national pyramid above and the county-level game beneath.
