National League Division One South West

Division One South West completes the quartet of fourth-tier regional divisions, covering the west and south-west of England. It's the most geographically spread of the four, with clubs sometimes facing long journeys across a large, less densely populated region — one of the practical reasons the tier is split regionally in the first place. Like Division One South East, its champions are promoted up into the Southern Premier at tier three, so the two southern divisions between them supply the southern half of the pyramid. Clubs dropping out of the division fall into the regional leagues below, which feed new sides back in each season. For many clubs in the South West, this is as high as the semi-professional game reaches in their area, making the division both a proving ground for rising clubs and the top of the ladder for well-run community sides who've climbed the county pyramid to get here.
