Keynsham Town LFC
Keynsham Town Ladies have one of the sweetest origin stories in the women's game. The club began in 1993 as Super Strikers Girls — an under-11 six-a-side team formed by pupils of Chandag Junior School in the Somerset town. As they grew they were renamed Protel Super Strikers and even adopted a green-and-white kit modelled on Celtic's, before linking up with Keynsham Town FC in 1998 to become Keynsham Town Ladies and entering senior football. From there the K's climbed steadily, winning a succession of promotions through the South West leagues to reach the FA Women's Premier League Southern Division by 2005/06. They play at Crown Field, sharing the home of the men's club, and carry the amber-and-black Keynsham identity.
