Norton & Stockton Ancients Ladies are the women's side of a Teesside club steeped in North East football history. The parent club took its current form in 1980, when the assets of the old Stockton FC — nicknamed "the Ancients" and one of the founder members of the Northern League back in 1882 — were transferred to Norton, and the two names were joined. The women's team was established around 2014, rising from the North East Regional leagues, where they finished runners-up in the Premier Division, into the FA Women's National League from 2017. Based at the Norton Sports Complex in Stockton-on-Tees, they've held their own in the national league's northern division while remaining a welcoming, community-minded club.
