Crystal Palace Women were founded in 1992 and, like the men's club, carry the Eagles nickname and the red-and-blue identity of the south London side they're affiliated with. For most of their history they built quietly through the women's pyramid as a London club, before establishing themselves in the upper tiers of the English game. They play their home matches in Sutton, and have grown from community roots into one of the capital's stronger women's sides — a steady climb rather than a headline-grabbing one, culminating in a rise to the top flight of women's football.
