Maidstone road sports ground
Chatham moved to Maidstone Road around 1889 after an FA Cup quarter-final run showed they could not charge admission on the Lines pitch, which was army land. The landowner let them enclose the site and add a pavilion. Drainage problems in 1997 forced a spell sharing Gillingham's ground before a return in 1998-99.
