Wythenshawe FC Women are the women's side of Wythenshawe FC, the south Manchester club nicknamed the Ammies. The parent club has deep local roots, founded in 1946 as Wythenshawe Lads' Club before becoming Wythenshawe Amateurs — the source of the "Ammies" nickname — and finally Wythenshawe FC in 2023, playing in blue-and-white at Hollyhedge Park. The women's setup is part of a large community club that fields teams across all ages, from a girls' section through to senior women's and reserve sides, competing in the North West Women's Regional League. Rooted in one of Manchester's biggest districts, the women's team gives local players a competitive pathway within a long-established football club.
