Saltdean United Women are the women's side of Saltdean United, the Tigers, a club nestled in the hills on the edge of the South Downs above Brighton, whose men's team was founded in 1966 by seven members inspired by England's World Cup win. The women's team has climbed the Sussex and South East pyramid on merit, earning successive promotions and picking up their first silverware with the South East Counties League Cup. Their standout campaign came in 2023/24, when they won the Sussex FA Challenge Cup, beating Newhaven 3-0, alongside a record points haul and a Women's FA Cup run that reached the first round proper — holding National League side AFC Wimbledon to a 1-1 draw before losing on penalties. Playing at Hill Park with its spectacular views, they've set their sights on reaching the National League.
