Peterborough United WFC
Peterborough United Women were originally founded in the early 1990s as Peterborough Pythons, enjoying plenty of local success — promotion to the East Midlands Premier Division, a Cambridgeshire County Plate in 1997/98, and a run to the third round of the Women's FA Cup in 1999–2000. By then affiliated with Peterborough United and using the club's name, the side folded during the 2000s. The club was re-founded in 2014 by Women & Girls Development Officer Jenna Lusk under the Peterborough United Foundation, and in 2021 was brought fully under the club as part of a "one club" strategy from the under-8s to the first team. Nicknamed the Posh and playing at PIMS Park, the reborn side has climbed the pyramid, winning promotion through the FA Women's National League divisions.
