Chesham United Women were founded in 1995 as Chesham United Ladies, building on a long heritage of women's football in the Buckinghamshire town — the first recorded women's match in Chesham dates all the way back to 1895. The club progressed steadily through the leagues into the FA Women's National League, reaching the third tier where they've faced the likes of QPR and Norwich City. A distinctive feature of the club is its "One Club" ethos, drawing the men's, women's and youth sections together — the women's section is chaired by Alex Horne, creator of the hit TV series Taskmaster, which also sponsors the men's team. Renamed Chesham United FC Women for the 2024/25 season to strengthen ties with the wider club, the Generals run a full pathway from Wildcats sessions up to senior football.
