Cambridge United Women
Cambridge United Women were formed in 1992 and spent their early years working up through the Eastern Region leagues, winning Division Two in 1993/94 and lifting the Eastern Region League Cup in 2004/05 with a final win over Colchester United. Known as the U's, the club has an unusual quirk for a city side: for much of its history it played its home games outside Cambridge itself, most recently groundsharing at St Neots, some way from the city it represents. A turning point came in 2022, when Cambridge United took over the running of the women's team and made establishing a permanent home in the city a central goal. In 2023/24 they reached their first national cup final, the FA National League Plate.
