Dulwich Hamlet Women were formed in the summer of 2019, when the well-known south London club added a women's team by merging with a successful local side, AFC Phoenix. They play at Champion Hill in East Dulwich, the same characterful home as the men's team, and carry Dulwich's distinctive pink-and-navy colours — the men's club, founded in 1893 by Lorraine 'Pa' Wilson, being one of the best-supported and most community-minded non-league clubs in the country. In a short space of time the women's side climbed through the London and South East regional football into the FA Women's National League, winning promotion as league champions and building a strong home following at Champion Hill.
