Luton Town LFC
Luton Town Ladies were founded in 1997 and, nicknamed the Hatters like the men's club, have long been a leading women's side in Bedfordshire. They enjoyed a run of success in the 2000s, winning successive promotions to climb from the fifth tier up to the second tier of the women's game by 2009 — a period the club still points to with pride, having played teams that now compete in the Women's Super League. An independent club affiliated to the Bedfordshire County FA, they run an extensive pathway of around 19 youth teams alongside their senior sides, and groundshare at Sharpenhoe Road with Barton Rovers. After some yo-yo years they've continued to push back up the pyramid, earning promotion as regional league champions.
