Fulham FC Women

Fulham Women hold a genuine landmark in the history of the game: in April 2000 they became the first women's football team in Europe to turn fully professional, backed by then-chairman Mohamed Al-Fayed. The club had debuted in 1993 as the successor to Friends of Fulham — a side that had won the Women's FA Cup back in 1985 — and rose rapidly through the pyramid during its professional heyday. But the story took sharp turns: professional status was reverted in 2003, the club dissolved in 2006, briefly returned as an independent side, then folded again in 2010 after sponsors withdrew. Reformed once more in 2014 through the Fulham Foundation and renamed Fulham FC Women in 2018, the club has rebuilt through the London regional leagues, winning promotion back into the FA Women's National League. They play at Motspur Park and carry the Cottagers' white.
