Liverpool Feds WFC

Liverpool Feds are the proudly independent side of the Merseyside women's game — not to be confused with the city's WSL club. Founded in 1990, they originated at the Liverpool Institute of Higher Education, now Liverpool Hope University, and their distinctive name comes from those college roots: the university's sports teams played as a "Federation" of St Katherine's and Christ's/Notre Dame colleges, and "Feds" stuck. From university beginnings they've grown into a genuine grassroots powerhouse, with a youth section of over 200 girls playing every week and a clear "people first, football second" ethos. On the pitch they've climbed steadily through the pyramid, winning a string of divisional titles before reaching the third tier in 2021/22 — losing only one game all season and reaching the third round of the Women's FA Cup for the first time in their history.
