Halifax Women

Halifax FC Women were formed in 2013 as Brighouse Town Ladies, and rose remarkably fast: from tier six to tier three of the women's pyramid in roughly a decade, guided throughout by founding manager Rob Mitchell. The early years brought unbeaten title-winning seasons in the North East Regional leagues and a string of promotions, along with glamour Women's FA Cup ties against WSL sides like Sunderland and Everton. In the summer of 2023 the club split from Brighouse Town, rebranding as Halifax FC Women and becoming completely independent and self-funded — describing themselves as the top independent women's club in Yorkshire. They carry the Eagles nickname and the "Fly Together" motto, and have held their own at national-league level, taking results off established sides since the rebrand.
