Bournemouth Sports

Bournemouth Sports Women's Football Club were formed in May 2013, set up to open up grassroots football to more women in the Bournemouth area in a supportive, cooperative environment. They are the women's section of Bournemouth Sports FC, a large community sports club based at Chapel Gate near East Parley in Dorset. From a single side the section grew to run a first team and a reserve team, with the reserves enjoying a strong unbeaten run through the Hampshire county divisions. The club climbed the women's pyramid through the Southern Region league before earning promotion into the FA Women's National League. Their stated aim throughout has been simple: keep rising through the pyramid while growing female participation in the local game.
