Bristol Rovers

Bristol Rovers Women, affectionately known as the Gas Girls, are a relaunch of women's football at the club. Bristol Rovers first ran a women's team from 1998 — a side that rose to the top flight within five years before financial troubles saw it cut loose in 2005, eventually becoming what is now Bristol City Women. That left Rovers without a women's team for 14 years, until 2019, when the Bristol Rovers Community Trust launched the Gas Girls from scratch, with over 100 women and girls turning up to the first open trials. They wear the club's traditional blue-and-white quarters and pirate crest, and climbed quickly through the regional leagues, winning county and regional titles before earning promotion into the FA Women's National League.
